The Ornithoptera priamus is an impressive birdwing butterfly native to the tropical regions of the Moluccas and northeastern Australia. This species is named after Priam, the last king of Troy in Greek mythology.

The male is easily recognized by its beautiful green sheen, while the female is slightly larger and has a warm brown color.
Like all birdwing butterflies, this species is also listed on the CITES list, meaning trade is strictly regulated. Upon purchase, you will receive an official CITES certificate.
